PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Council of St. Peter Claver, as an advisory body of persons - clergy, religious and laity, drawn from the parish membership and representatives of the people of God, is a contemporary structure by which all members of this parish community exercise together their shared and specific responsibilities to continue with the mission of the Church. The Parish Council consists of: ex-officio members, ten elected members and four appointed members. Any registered member can be elected as a member of the Parish Council or serve as an officer with the endorsement of the Pastor. The officers are: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary. The Parish Council is concerned with the areas of parish life which parallel those on the diocesan level by having several standing committees. Meetings are held by-monthly in the John Paul II Social Hall and are open to all members of the Parish.

COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN

The mission of the Council of Catholic Women is to support, empower, and educate all Catholic Women in spirituality, in leadership, and in service, consistent with the teachings and tradition of the Catholic Church. The aims of the CCW are carried out by five Commissions: Church Commission, Community Affairs, Family Affairs, International Affairs, and Organization Services. Each commission plans programs for the year to target the goals set at the National level. CCW is open to all Catholic women in the parish. Annual dues and some fund raisers help support our local Commissions. Meetings are held on the 4th Sunday each month after the 9:00 a.m. Mass in John Paul II Social Hall.
