Parish Life

AFRICAN AMERICAN MINISTRY

We come together once a year at a gathering that takes place in a different city of the diocese and nationally every five years. At these events we have the opportunity to learn about our Catholic & African heritage as well as how to live according to our Faith. We focus on the needs of Black Catholics with workshops on Respect Life, Vocations, Spiritual Life, Evangelization, etc. Look for the notices in our church bulletin and join us. Everyone is welcome. Visit our website: www.nbccongress.org

BIBLE STUDY

This group meets every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. to study the Word of God and be nourished by it. It is an excellent avenue for parishioners to share their faith with each other and so broaden their spiritual horizons.

FOOD PANTRY

Our food pantry provides food to those in need and is located in John Paul II Social Hall. Food for the pantry comes from offerings in the Church lobby after each Mass and monetary donations from parishioners. The families assisted come from the community and all over Macon. The pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. It is staffed with volunteer members of St. Vincent De Paul Society.

GIFT SHOP

Our Gift Shop is located in the John Paul II Social Hall and carries a variety of items, books, and Bibles. It is usually manned by members of the Council of Catholic Women, the Hispanic Ministry and other volunteers. The gift shop was founded by Catherine Jaindl.
